I had a successful signing and got to meet a lot of readers. Thanks to all those who stopped by and chatted! I also sat on a panel for first time published authors, which was an incredible experience. I was the small fish in that pond, but the other authors were wonderful and never made me feel like the small potatoes that I am right now ;) I learned a ton and picked up some good tips about networking and writing. One of the main ones, writing on lunch breaks, I've already implemented. Just that little bit of time each day and I've already chipped away at a few chapters of a new book I'm writing.
Which brings me to my next point...
So I've started a non-Four Corners, non-Young Adult, non-fantasy (that's a lot of non's) book. So if it's not this and not that, what is it? I'm not going to give too much away, but it is for Adults and will either be a mystery or thriller, its form is still taking shape. But I will say that I'm really excited about it. I've given myself the month of October to focus on this side project. I am going to use NaNoWriMo this year to kickstart back to Book Three. I just needed a little break to think of something else before getting back in deep to Esotera. I'm so excited for you all to see what happens in Book Two, but I know there are some unanswered questions, so I need to get on that to limit any angry messages ;)
In the mean time of that, I've met another local author, Christina Benjamin, who has sort of taken me under her wing. I'm currently reading her book, Truth and it's fabulous! You can find more information about her here. We are looking to do some school events to talk to local middle and high school kids about the importance of reading and writing comprehension. I'm really looking forward to this! I struggled a lot in school when I was younger with reading and I think it's really important to let people know that they can get help with subjects they struggle with and they just may fall in love with them!
As always, you can find updates here, though if you are interested in some consolidated info, you can sign up for my quarterly newsletter. There you'll also see sneak peaks of Four Corners: Two Worlds, including a look at the cover before anyone else! Until next time :) happy reading!
