2017 was a crazy year for me, to say the least. The beginning of the year brought the addition of my son into our family and sent us on a fun and crazy journey. It has also forced me to prioritize what little free time I have to my passions and means less time for binging on TV shows. I am proud to say that I have maintained my writing, completing the edits on the third book in the Four Corners trilogy and submitting it to my publisher, the publication of two short stories, plus successfully participating in NaNoWriMo this year, completing my fifth novel. I am very excited about it and have already started the editing process- which if you know anything about me, you know I hate, so I feel like it really says something when I am looking forward to tackling and polishing this work.
The end of the year also brings reflections on what has worked and what needs improvement in the upcoming year. Updating this blog and website is definitely on my list ;) as well as re-focusing on marketing when the third book comes out in the Spring. I am also committed to sending out a polished MS for agent consideration by March. A lofty goal, but one I think I will be able to achieve.
I will also have three (yes, 3!) short stories coming out in anthologies next year, so I will be burning the writing candle on both ends, but I am excited about those projects as well.
I hope that you have some things you are looking forward to in the New Year, and if you haven't found that project yet, keep searching! You never know when an idea will grab a hold of you.
